This instructor's manual is to accompany the patient care video vignettes that were developed for use in the Austin Community College Associate Degree Nursing program. The video vignettes are designed to help students perform the following tasks: complete an initial patient assessment; develop a list of possible nursing diagnoses; develop a nursing care plan; practice observation skills; practice communication skills; identify important safety measures; and prioritize patient care. The vignettes can be used with students of all skill levels to simulate patient situations in the clinical setting. There are three skill levels designated for each video in the following instructor's manual. Each level has suggestions for measureable learning objectives and questions that can be used for discussion or student assessment. - P. 5.
